IntelliNet Solutions: Network: Architecture

Hi, I'm Christine. Call me at 1-800-224-7083 ext. 2376 with your conferencing and pricing questions, or click here to have an IVCi Representative contact you.

The IntelliNet network architecture is based on switched ATM to the customer premises. At the customer premises, the IP transport is taken over ATM and bridged to the nearest Point of Presence (PoP). At the PoP, the packet is switched directly to the destination PoP from where it is bridged ATM to the destination customer premises, which ensures that there are never more than 2 hops from one location to the next. This, in turn, guarantees the best in class Service Level Agreement with low latency and virtually no packet loss. With a full ATM architecture down to the Customer Premises, security and control is maintained by managing these aspects within the network, alleviating the need for expensive fire-wall equipment to be placed on site. The network ensures that all information is kept secure by applying techniques such as fire-walling, anti-spoofing, VPN steering, Traffic Shaping, and Network Address Translation (NAT) from within the network. This delivers both better security and performance compared to a routed environment that only applies Quality of Service (QoS).

In routed networks, the path of the packet is never pre-determined, and security and performance are compromised since every router has to open the IP packet and read it to determine where to deliver it. This increases delay and the risk of packet loss as well as compromises security, particularly when the service provider carries the packet over a public network/backbone. Conversely, on IntelliNet's network, your video packet will never be handed off to be routed on another carrier's network.

Our factory-trained sales and technical staff install and service IntelliNet projects across the country and around the world. IVCi provides clients with one point of contact for video conferencing sales, installation, service, management and support.
