If you attend the WCBS Small Business Breakfast June 7th on Long Island...maybe someday you will say what Bob Swing of IVCi Video Conferencing in Hauppauge said when I asked "how many employees do you have?" and he said, "I think...we're around 120 now."

His secret to such growth - was continually replacing himself.

He says “I started this business, and I was the vp of sales and now the president of the company, but at each step of the game I had to replace myself. So I had to replace myself as a sales person. Then I had to replace myself as managing those sales people and now I run the day to day business.

And that's key to learn and we probably would have been much more successful if we did it earlier. We probably did it in year four, where it clicked and we figured out that to grow we couldn't do it all ourselves. We had to bring in people who can do it.
