TANDBERG reportedly introduced its "TS 7010," a compact telepresence bridge which can offer flexibility and interoperability to telepresence customers. The TS 7010 is a compact version of the chassis-based TANDBERG Telepresence (News - Alert) Server and this solution enables high-definition, multi-vendor, multi-screen telepresence calls for customers and remote offices.
Telepresence is expected to change the way organizations do business as they enable reduction in costs and increase collaboration. Telepresence interoperability with standards-based video conferencing and third-party telepresence systems helps grow the market through true B2B communication said TANDBERG.
"The TS 7010 is one more example of TANDBERG leading the industry in delivering superior telepresence solutions that support the highest level of interoperability available," said Hakon Dahle, Chief Technologist, TANDBERG.
"Customers need solutions that bring their employees, customers and suppliers together. They will no longer accept the limitations of proprietary systems that lock out other vendors' systems and prohibit open collaboration. TANDBERG has overcome this barrier, which is key for successful B2B communications and maximizing the value of telepresence investments."
Technopolis, a Finnish company selected TANDBERG solution owing to the interoperability it offered. Technopolis provides business environments for high tech companies and it plans to reduce its own travel by 40% using telepresence and video conferencing.
"Our clients have global operations, so the chosen solution had to be standardized and able to integrate with other networks, technologies, and vendor solutions. We were completely satisfied that TANDBERG offered us this capability," said Laura Krusius, Business Services Director.
TANDBERG released a software upgrade for its Telepresence T3 for delivering a user interface which simplifies calls setup by allowing participants to configure the Telepresence Server from the T3's touch screen. The scheduling capabilities of the TANDBERG Management Suite are useful in scheduling conferences, said the company.
The company provides telepresence, high-definition video conferencing and mobile video products and services. It designs, develops and markets systems and software for voice, video and data.
