Polycom Telepresence now supports real HD

Polycom is now including 1080p and broadcast-quality 720p on its telepresence products.

Polycom has enhanced its RealPresence Experience and Polycom Telepresence Experience immersive telepresence solutions with support for 1080p and broadcast-quality 720p (60 frames per second) HD video quality.

“Visual communication is not one size fits all, and Polycom offers customers fully integrated solutions for video-enabling their organizations and tailoring the technology to meet specific application needs and network requirements,” said Joe Sigrist, senior vice president and general manager of video solutions at Polycom.”

With the addition of 1080p and broadcast-quality 720p on the RPX and TPX products, Polycom now supports a range of HD capabilities, allowing customers to adapt telepresence products for their application and network requirements.

In addition to HD video quality, all Polycom telepresence products deliver HD video, HD StereoSurround voice, and HD content collaboration capabilities.

Polycom also offers integration for several unified communication environments, including Microsoft OCS 2007 and IBM Sametime, as well as IP telephony platforms from Avaya and Nortel. End of article.
