The SMART Board 685ix interactive whiteboard system has an ultra-short-throw projector, the SMART UX60, which virtually eliminates shadows, glare and distracting projector light. The projector is positioned directly above the SMART Board interactive whiteboard, projecting crisp, bright images from only 12” (30.5 cm) away. And because the system's interactive whiteboard is widescreen, it has 20% more working space than a standard interactive whiteboard.
The 685ix comes with SMART Notebook collaborative learning software, which connects you to dynamic content, tools and support that will help you create, deliver and manage compelling lessons. And like all SMART Board interactive whiteboards, this system enables you to write in digital ink, control applications and save your work.

You can also write with a pen, erase with your palm and move objects with your finger without having to press buttons, access on-screen menus or replace tools in the Pen Tray. Our Touch Recognition feature makes it possible.

With SMART Notebook collaborative learning software, which comes with all SMART Board interactive whiteboards, you can capture all of your notes, screenshots, images and videos to a single file that can be opened in both Windows and Macintosh operating systems. Notes and multimedia can be saved as objects that can be manipulated, reorganized and reused. You can also save digital notes directly into several software applications including Microsoft Windows versions of PowerPoint, Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat and AutoCAD software. SMART Notebook software also enables you to e-mail saved files to students or colleagues at any time during your lesson. You can also upload your favorite SMART Notebook lesson files into the SMART Exchange, so your colleagues can find them quickly and easily using our custom search engine.
