SMART Board 800i Interactive Whiteboard

It makes interacting with lesson content an exceptionally natural experience and it increases opportunities to work together to solve problems and discuss lesson activities. The 800i is an all-in-one interactive whiteboard system that helps you manage your classroom technology.
Feature availability: The SMART Board 800 series interactive whiteboard supports multiuser writing and common multitouch gestures currently recognized in Microsoft Windows 7 and Mac Snow Leopard operating system. SMART Notebook collaborative learning software will support certain features, such as freestyle interaction, touch gestures and full object awareness, upon the release of updated software (SMART Notebook 10.7 software), expected by March 2011.
 A new class of interactive whiteboard
As part of the 800 series, the 800i represents a new class of interactive whiteboard. The 800i features touch gesture and multitouch capabilities that enable true collaboration and make lessons more engaging.
The 800i is an integrated system featuring a powerful interactive whiteboard and a multiuser Pen Tray that enables users to work together instantly. The system also includes the SMART UF65 projector, which reduces distracting shadows and glare, and an extended control panel, which allows you to easily manage the system and your classroom technology.
Freedom to collaborate
The 800i makes working together a flexible and intuitive experience. The system's multitouch capabilities enable two people to use a finger or a pen to interact simultaneously on the interactive whiteboard surface to write, draw and manipulate lesson content in SMART Notebook collaborative learning software. Each user is free to interact with content the way they want, anywhere on the interactive whiteboard. The system doesn't require a separate multiuser mode, so teachers and students can start working together quickly.
The 800i uses DViT (Digital Vision Touch) technology to identify when a user switches between a finger, pen and eraser. A user can also write with a pen, erase with a palm and move objects with a finger, without having to press buttons, access on-screen menus or replace tools in the Pen Tray.

With the 800i, teachers and students can get hands-on with learning. The system features touch gesture* capabilities, so it's easy to interact with lessons. You can use simple, intuitive hand and finger gestures to toss, rotate or zoom in on objects. The touch gestures also work on Windows 7 or Snow Leopard operating systems. Each person can independently write with a pen, erase with a palm and move objects with a finger. The remarkable touch experience of the 800i makes interacting with lessons natural and easy – there's no need to access on-screen menus.
