GlobalMedia designed TotalExam to be easy to use and easy to hold. This multi-purpose examination camera has wide applications both in and out of healthcare. Its medical applications cover a number of modalities: primary care, emergency medicine/trauma care, dermatology, ophthalmology, pediatrics and wound care. It is an excellent device to document abuse. Since it is an S-video camera, TotalExam can work with any hardware codec (i.e., Polycom®. TANDBERG, LifeSize®, Vidyo®, etc.) or connect with a PC or Mac computer (using the USB Live! 2.0™ Interface). It is a manual focus camera, enabling the user to fine-focus on a specific area, surface or feature from 2.5 centimeters to infinity. TotalExam automatically white-balances.

In addition, this very portable, light-weight and easy-to-use camera provides crystal clear images required in the educational life sciences, autopsies and industrial product and quality control applications. Using TotalExam in conjunction with GlobalMedia's CapSure® Image Automation software solution, healthcare providers can manage patient medical images within the most popular EMR (electronic medical record) system and the pan-Canadian Interoperable Electronic Health Record (iEHR) system. The camera produces live video that can be forwarded to a remote computer via videoconferencing software. CapSure can be used to acquire freeze frames to store and forward as well.
